Camping in Lofotodden National Park The right of access (allemannsretten) applies within Lofotodden National Park, including camping in Lofoten. Normal outdoor activities such as berry and mushroom picking, hunting, and fishing can be carried out as outside the park. You can use firewood for campfires, but old/dying trees must be left untouched as they are important habitats for insects, birds, lichens, and fungi. Remember that there is a general ban on fires between April 15 and September 15.

Lofotodden National Park is located on Moskenesøya island in western Lofoten and covers an area of 99 square kilometers, of which 86 square kilometers are land and 13 square kilometers are sea.

A national park is an area protected because of its special natural qualities. Lofotodden has landscape and nature types that are not found in other Norwegian protected areas, with its distinctive and unique landscape featuring narrow, high ridges surrounded by open sea areas and deep fjords.

This does not mean that you cannot camp there, on the contrary, it is perfectly fine as long as you follow the Lofoten Rules of Conduct (Lofotvettreglene).
